Inspiring Insights into Neuromorphic Computing: NEUROTEC at Forschungszentrum Jülich’s Open Day - From Material to Device

Open Day on Sunday, September 7, 2025, was a resounding success! More than 22,000 visitors took advantage of the sunny weather to come to Forschungszentrum Jülich and explore the campus. They had the chance to learn about Jülich’s research, experience science up close, and discover career opportunities at FZJ in more than 250 presentations hosted by the institutes and divisions.

Among the highlights was an exhibition on neuromorphic computing, created by PGI-4, PGI-7, and PGI-15, which are also involved in the NEUROTEC project.

In addition, several members of the NEUROTEC project contributed to the program of the cross-institute AI Campus, offering fascinating insights into the interplay between artificial intelligence and neuromorphic computing.

The next Open Day—and with it the opportunity to gain a close-up look at Forschungszentrum Jülich and, in particular, neuromorphic computing—will be held again in 2028.
